RMS offers a host of services for OEMs, Systems Integrators, and end users in a wide range of markets.
Our product development team uses a fully TS-compliant formal product development process applicable to commercial trucking and passenger car applications. We design, prototype, validate, and can tool and manufacture smaller production volume programs here at our Oregon facilities.
We also develop products to be manufactured on your production line, or with your production contract manufacturer - experience with Flextronics and Jabil design standards / PCB layout rules for manufacturing and test. We can co-develop the production test equipment to facilitate the assembly and test of the products we design for a fast, smooth production transfer.
Or we can transfer the production line to Accema - our high volume manufacturing partner in China. It all depends on your volume and cost targets, and materials logistics.
Unfortunately, with few exceptions we can't talk much about current or even past programs - they are under NDA and generally you won't have any idea who makes that part unless our customer announces it to the world. This is one drawback of being a "best kept secret"...
Design Quality / Product Quality:
Power Circuit Design
The company has considerable experience with the physical and electrical design of power circuits ranging form a few Watts to 1,000kW. This includes mechanical layout and complete mechanical design, thermal design, analysis of the losses and temperature rise of the components, laminated bus bar designs, DC link capacitor bank designs, and overall system enclosure design.
AC Induction and Permanent Magnet motor control algorithms, expertise, and software for industrial, alternative energy, and propulsion system controls.
Advanced Thermal Management Design
Extensive thermal design and thermal component and system analysis for air-, water- and oil-cooled circuits, assemblies and systems; Cast, Extruded, Transfer Molded, Injection Molded, and exotic metal matrix materials experience; Custom heat exchanger design and fabrication; Cooling System test and qualification.
Power Hybrid and Multi-Chip Module Packaging
All aspects of power module design, including power substrate layout design, die attach tooling and fixture, wire-bonding layout design, gate and power lead frame design, injection molded component design, and comprehensive thermal and electrical analysis.
